Answer Question
Can't use unused space.please help me use it
i recently installed vista after removing xp. previously i had four partitions on my disk...what i did was- i took backup on one of the partitions, now while installing vista i was trying to delete all the partitions(except the one containing the backup) and to create a total of 3 partitions....i was successful at deleting 2 partitions n getting them under one head "unallocated space" and type "primary"....but when i deleted the last one, it started showing a lable-"type= extended".... i ignored thisand tried creating a new partition out of that, but i got an error message-"not enough disk space"...after hving tried atleast 10 times...i installed vista anyway, leaving that space unused, the installation was successful though. Now, when i open disk management i see 60 GB of "free space" (in light green color) but i can't create a new simple volume out of that. every time i try, i get this message- "there is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation".i even tried decreasing the size of the new volume..but in vain.
please help... i treat my pc like my kid : )
