How can I integrate SEO into website without an admin site?

This is one of my cases. My client wants us to check errors, add keywords, integrate SEO into their website, which is done by HTML/CSS but they don't have an admin site (CMS). I have tried to explain how the admin site works with SEO. But they ask us to find another way to integrate SEO into the website without CMS.

So, can you recommend any other ways to utilise SEO without a CMS?

Webfont is not working in IE in select option tag

I have used the select option tag and style the dropdown by css, it is working fine in firefox and chrome, but in IE the option font is not displaying which I have given in class. It is displaying the font in arial by default in IE. I have written the following code(HTML and CSS). Please guide me what to do so that the dropdown should also display the following font "font-family:'MyriadProCondensed'" in IE also similar to the firefox and chrome..

Need Help with CSS Page Layout

Hi! I need your help. Trying to redesign my band's website and I am a relative rookie at web design. You can see the concept I am going for here: (Basic template for the site) www.yusifmusic.com/NEWSITE/bio.html So what I initially tried to do was use the image as a background image but that was very difficult. So I ended up splitting the image into 3 sections in photoshop-- header, content, & footer-- and put them in 3 divs that are stacked on each other, and made the middle one (content) overflow. This is very functional and accomplishes what I wanted the page to do. HOWEVER I noticed that because I am using absolute pixel values there are a ton of problems rendering the page across platforms (iPhone for example, smaller laptops). I want to make the CSS layout based on percentages so that it will render the same on all screens. However, whenever I try to use percentages (for the width, for example) and test my layout by dragging the browser window larger or smaller, there is a problem. The divs are resizing in relation to the browser window, however, the text within them (the word "Bio" or the list in the middle, for example) are not fixed within the div and start to slide around horizontally in relation to the div. I think there is a smarter way to do this. What is the solution? Should I use absolute pixel values but just make the 3 images (and divs) smaller? If it's impossible to use percentages for this task, then what is the best pixel size to design for? Is there a better way to accomplish this layout without splitting the image up into 3 pieces? Ideally the background image would take up the whole screen, there would be no black margin/background, and all the scrollable content would be in the middle (yellow section) of the image. Change the background color of selected option in a multi select combo box in HTML

I am using a multi select box in my code
If I select an option, it's background color changes to dark blue, which is I think the default color for Windows combo boxes. Is it possible to change the color of the selected option from dark blue to something else when I select it?

I am adding an swf slideshow gallery to the page creative design (it's not there yet but i can put it there when i'm not at work). The dilema is that when i preview the site in any browser the swf file remains 'static' when the browser is moved but the rest of the site adjusts...

If you take a look at the source code of the page i've shown you'll get the idea of how the site is built.

How can I 'embed' the swf file so it moves with the rest of the site. I'm building it using layers.

strange firefox 3 html/css rendering issues

Hi,

Have you heard of any instances where the same Firefox version 3.0.5 will render the same html code differently on different windows computers?
I basically experience issues where the site looks fine on my computer, but my partner and sometimes clients see it slightly different.
I understand differences between browsers and different versions, but the same exact browser?
I tried disabling the different toolbars I have installed, but that didn't seem to help anything.
So basically my question is if you know of anything that could provoke this. I'm not looking to analyze concrete html examples.

Hi again. I'm working on a site and previously asked about validation through w3c. Well, my site so far states that 'This document was successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional!' which is great but as soon as i change the height in my tables it becomes 'Error found while checking this document as XHTML 1.0 Transitional!'

I understand that the 'height' attribute is a big problem for validating but i'm not sure how to overcome this. I've looked at another site that uses

but cant understand how they layout the site...tables are so easy! i'm not so good with the code side of things as some people here know, i've always been a designer not a coder...wysiwyg!!

The validating is for my personal gratification but would also be a nice touch to show to clients. what is the easiest way to change heights within a site to comply to w3c?

I use the above css class to make my form elements have the same background and a uniform width and height but I can't get it to work with the select html tag. Is there a way to customize the select option tag and be compatible with IE6, IE7 and mozilla browsers?

- The HTML body tag has a background image which needs to be visible through a transparent header/footer.
- Header must be 100px high and fixed to the top of the browser window, contains graphic.
- Footer must be 100px high and fixed to the bottom of the window, contains graphic
(Unless there is enough content to fill the content section in which case it would push the footer down, full screen scrolls)

This looks simple, similar to faux columns: 3 divs in a wrapper div set to 100% height along with body/html 100% height, and a y-repeat image on the wrapper background to give the effect of the middle stratching to fill the space between header and footer divs.

But putting the y-repeat image on the wrapper div covers the whole verticle area, and I need a transparent header and footer to show the page background image which is on the HTML body element.

Using standards based CSS is there is no way to set the middle div height="100%". That works or is valid.
Using old school tables you have to force quirks-mode with the old doctype for IE to get 100% height table, and I'm worried quirks-smode could bring more layout problems. Can't use %height as I have fixed graphics in header and footer.

And I can't change the design unfortunatly. Anyone able to help?
