I have a table in which I have used few textboxes. I want to use requiredfield validation using javascript which can be triggered on single button click event. So that whenever I click on submit button then if any textbox is empty it may show an error message "Please enter the value".

Close Protoype modal window on div refresh

We have a backend process that takes up to 10 seconds to run and when it's complete we change the content in a div to display new info.

The idea is to open a modal window until the new content loads in the div so people know something is happening and don't click on other things. The modal just has an animated processing gif on it.

I've got the modal coming up and the div changing however I can't figure out how to remove the modal without interaction from user. Thought about simulating a click on a button but could not get that to work.

The situation is that I have an html form with a file input field.

I want the form to be submitted asynchronously with dojo, so I connect the dojo ajax call to the onsubmit event of the form element:

dojo.connect(form_elem, 'onsubmit', function(event){dojo.xhrPost({form: form_elem});});

This (though example shown here is incomplete) works when you click the submit button - the file is submitted in the background.

Next thing is, I want to automatically submit the form when the user has selected a file, so I connect the onchange event of the file input element to the onsubmit event of the form:

dojo.connect(input_elem, 'onchange', function(event){input_elem.parentNode.onsubmit()});
(the parentNode is naturally the form element)

This doesn't work! The form element does not have an onsubmit function, even though it has the onsubmit event handler connected by dojo before.

Question is how do I trigger / fire the onsubmit event of the form?

Like wise we have different section to be printed on A4 page, the report will be generated dynamically, so which will go beyond 2, 3 pages.
My problem is Section heading and its details should be printed at one page only.
i.e., one page is having section header and other page is having details should not be there.

Enabling the text fields corresponding to the clicked radio buttons

I need to create three radio buttons for the fields current address, permanent address and work address and when the radio button is clicked, the corresponding text fields such as 3 different address types should get activated.
If i clicked the first radio button, all the text fields are getting activated.Similarly for all the buttons, all the text fields are enabled.

I need to enable certain text fields such as contact address, permanent address and employment address based on the selection of the corresponding radio buttons. If i work with first radio button, it is activating the first address type(contact address) and deactivating the other address types ( permanent and employment address) correctly. But for the second and third buttons too, it gives the same output.
It is not activating the corresponding address fields.

I am creating a Greasemonkey script that further extends an already existing Greasemonkey script that is called dAx (dAmn.extend). dAx works on deviantART's chat client, dAmn. dAx has many subcommands that work with dAmn, but the one I am focusing on is the Away function. If you type /setaway [message], it posts *Username is away: [Message] and then you can remove that away by /setback'ing which returns *Username has returned from away. When a user highlights (mentions another user's username) the message gains a white background and if /setaway is active, it returns Username2: I am currently away, reason: [Message]. When a user has been in an active chat long enough, older messages start to disappear. My part of this script is to make it store the messages to the user while the user was away and repeat it in a private window on /setback. I've managed to have it do a simple storage by just setting the chatroom it was posted in, timestamp, username, and message in a variable: timeForm = hour + ':' + minutes + ':' + seconds + (userAM?"
