How can I integrate SEO into website without an admin site?

This is one of my cases. My client wants us to check errors, add keywords, integrate SEO into their website, which is done by HTML/CSS but they don't have an admin site (CMS). I have tried to explain how the admin site works with SEO. But they ask us to find another way to integrate SEO into the website without CMS.

So, can you recommend any other ways to utilise SEO without a CMS?

I have used the select option tag and style the dropdown by css, it is working fine in firefox and chrome, but in IE the option font is not displaying which I have given in class. It is displaying the font in arial by default in IE. I have written the following code(HTML and CSS). Unable to open signed HTML files that are within a zipped folder using Chrome, Firefox and IE

I am unable to access the signed HTML files using any of the browsers - Chrome, Firefox and IE. These files are weekly reports I receive from a client. These were accessible a month ago but they suddenly stopped working. Old files as well as the new files don't open at all. There is no error message that gets displayed when I try to access a file. It just does not respond. The zipped folder contains only 2 files - a HTML file and a SIGNED file. Extracting them has never worked as the extracted folder won't have any files in it. This was the case in the past as well when I was able to access these files directly from the zipped folder.

The client confirmed that there has been no change in the way they produce these automated reports. I have been unable to figure out a way around this problem. Please help.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium, AVG Free Anti-virus and Zone Alarm Free Firewall.

What is the limitation to Apache and PHP?

I was wondering if there are any size limitations to a PHP file that is being called by Apache? I have about 30 different categories on my html code that calls a php file that has an obviously very long ifelse statement. There are about 20 banner ads per if statement so that's about 1200 echo() statements. Rather than to create 30 different MySQL files (since the length of the columns are different) I am just using echo() to send the data back to the html. However when I got to the sixth category, I got an internal server error. Is this because the php file is getting too big for the server? If so, how do I correct this error?

Hi! I need your help. Trying to redesign my band's website and I am a relative rookie at web design. You can see the concept I am going for here: (Basic template for the site) www.yusifmusic.com/NEWSITE/bio.html So what I initially tried to do was use the image as a background image but that was very difficult. So I ended up splitting the image into 3 sections in photoshop-- header, content, & footer-- and put them in 3 divs that are stacked on each other, and made the middle one (content) overflow. This is very functional and accomplishes what I wanted the page to do. HOWEVER I noticed that because I am using absolute pixel values there are a ton of problems rendering the page across platforms (iPhone for example, smaller laptops). I want to make the CSS layout based on percentages so that it will render the same on all screens. However, whenever I try to use percentages (for the width, for example) and test my layout by dragging the browser window larger or smaller, there is a problem. The divs are resizing in relation to the browser window, however, the text within them (the word "Bio" or the list in the middle, for example) are not fixed within the div and start to slide around horizontally in relation to the div. I think there is a smarter way to do this. What is the solution? Should I use absolute pixel values but just make the 3 images (and divs) smaller? If it's impossible to use percentages for this task, then what is the best pixel size to design for? Is there a better way to accomplish this layout without splitting the image up into 3 pieces? Ideally the background image would take up the whole screen, there would be no black margin/background, and all the scrollable content would be in the middle (yellow section) of the image. We are using Win XP as our operating system & MS outlook 2003 as a mail client. Our User has received a mail from one of our customer & he gets the above error. He forwarded that mail to me to rectify the problem. Tried most of the options searched on the net in outlook 2003.

1. Allowing ActiveX controls from the restricted zone.
2. Replacing Restricted zone option to Internet Zone.
3. Changing the options "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail
messages" & "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to read Rich Text e-mail
messages"
4. Changing the message format: 1. HTML, 2. Rich Text, 3. Plain Text.

Applying the above options still teh problem is not resolved. PLs help me to sort this issue as the customer is important for us & we receive n mails from him.

ajax/php dynamic form getting "the url can not be loaded"

I am having an issue with ajax/php. When the page loads in firefox I get a mesage box that says "the url can not be loaded" The page has 2 select boxes, the first one is categories, the second item. When the category is selected, the options in the item one are updated to only items in that category and all items fitting that category are displayed on the page in a diffirent div. the second select box limits the list to the specific item selected. I have access to all Microsoft programs and photoshop. I am working with an advanced programmer but I am trying perform the design tasks as much as possible.

I am a beginner, but a quick learner with access to many programs. What is the best approach to creating a master template design that I can then code in HTML and give to my programmer.

I have the time to do this myself if I can find a way to get proficient at graphic design.

I realize that this is a huge undertaking and that graphic design is its own profession that people spend years learning.

To clarify, I am an entrepreneur and I like doing more with less. Do you guys know of any tips, tricks, programs or gurus you can point me to to help me keep my graphic design and marketing materials creation in-house?

Also, if I am being naive please tell me how and why. I am running a business and I take this very seriously. Thanks for your input.

I am adding an swf slideshow gallery to the page creative design (it's not there yet but i can put it there when i'm not at work). The dilema is that when i preview the site in any browser the swf file remains 'static' when the browser is moved but the rest of the site adjusts...

If you take a look at the source code of the page i've shown you'll get the idea of how the site is built.

How can I 'embed' the swf file so it moves with the rest of the site. I'm building it using layers.

strange firefox 3 html/css rendering issues

Hi,

Have you heard of any instances where the same Firefox version 3.0.5 will render the same html code differently on different windows computers?
I basically experience issues where the site looks fine on my computer, but my partner and sometimes clients see it slightly different.
I understand differences between browsers and different versions, but the same exact browser?
I tried disabling the different toolbars I have installed, but that didn't seem to help anything.
So basically my question is if you know of anything that could provoke this. I'm not looking to analyze concrete html examples.

Hi. I have been looking endlessly to try to get shadowbox.js to work. I have trawled through forums and downloaded endless amounts of code but cant seem to figure it out.

I have looked at source codes of sites to see if can work out whats going on but when i build it and play around it doesn't seem to work.

I've been looking at newsletters that I receive and they differ in terms of how they do it.

I have tried different approaches and while in hotmail, gmail and outlook 2007, I can see the email fine, in yahoo mail the body doesn't show at all.
So I'm wondering what the standard way of doing this is, and if there are special headers I should set as well.

Hi there. Just wondering if there is a tutorial that will take me through website validation. So that if I submit to WC3 it will be green, not red!

I am essentially a designer so code is not my strong point. Though know a bit but would like to just give my sites that professional touch.

i want to display the new records inserted without teh page being refreshed. i am thinking to trigger a ajax call after a small time gap, that will help me to show the latest records without using meta-tag etc.

The situation is that I have an html form with a file input field.

I want the form to be submitted asynchronously with dojo, so I connect the dojo ajax call to the onsubmit event of the form element:

dojo.connect(form_elem, 'onsubmit', function(event){dojo.xhrPost({form: form_elem});});

This (though example shown here is incomplete) works when you click the submit button - the file is submitted in the background.

Next thing is, I want to automatically submit the form when the user has selected a file, so I connect the onchange event of the file input element to the onsubmit event of the form:

dojo.connect(input_elem, 'onchange', function(event){input_elem.parentNode.onsubmit()});
(the parentNode is naturally the form element)

This doesn't work! The form element does not have an onsubmit function, even though it has the onsubmit event handler connected by dojo before.

Question is how do I trigger / fire the onsubmit event of the form?

We are starting a music site for OUR Tourney Directors. hi there.

i was cornered by a client this morning who said, i need my website to be more out there on google. i'm not getting the hits i want'!

i have a google account. so i guess i need to know how i can get my clients websites more dominant on the search engines. pay per click? is there something i can add to the site to make it stay at the top, key words etc.

This will benefit my other clients to i guess. i can design and build sites ok but search engine stuff really is tricky.
