I'm looking to have users fill out a form online and then render a printable PDF that looks pretty with the user's information on it, but not sure if you do this with web technologies or if there are other ways to do it.

I know of a technology called VDX but I would need to buy a new server to get the functionality and that is really, really expensive. So, wanted to see if there was anything else out there.
