when transfering mail folders to another installation of mozilla dif comp. the folders are empty

So we got a new computer.

Working b/t windows xp and windows 7 if that becomes relevant.

Wanted to move all of the outlook information from the old machine to the new one.

Downloaded Thunderbird on the old on, and imported all of the info.

Which worked fine.

Went to the folder location for the user (example: 7d9gpe8p) and then I saved all of that folders contents onto a flashdrive.

Installed Thunderbird on the new machine. Dummy account. Went to the funny folder location replaced all of the files with those from the flashdrive.

Seemed to work, the account and all of the folders imported from the old machine's thunderbird, but now I noticed that the contents of those folders, only imported up to the letter G.

All of the folders starting with H-Z are empty. The folder is there but not the contained emails.

Checked the old computer, those emails did import from Outlook, but on some of them it appears if it is the first time opening the folder Thunderbird takes a minute to load them first.

Does anyone know how I can get that content easily to the new machine?
Does thunderbird only reference the files stored in outlook and not actually import a new copy?

Should I save them all individually to a flashdrive and manually move them over? is that even possible?

Let me know what you think?
I am running Outlook 2007 with a group wise connector. I get several emails a day and they all look fine, accept from one person. When ever I receive an email from this person I get Chinese characters. I can access my email from the web as well via Novell web based and the email is in english characters. Any ideas what the issue could be?

I just got a new computer. How do I transfer my Outlook e-mails, addresses, etc. to the new computer? Both have USB ports and I have a thumb drive to back them up to, but I don't know where to find them on the old computer, how many files need to be copied, or where to put them on the new computer. The old computer has Windows XP Professional and the new has Windows Vista. The old computer has Outlook Express. I haven't set up the new computer yet, so I am not sure the e-mail version. The new computer is Item 429-145 at HSN.com.

I get this error when I open outlook, and none of my folders are visible in outlook:
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location"
I have tried to repair the outlook.pst file several times with scanpst, but it doesn't help. The error doesn't go away and I don't know what to do now.
My pst file is more than 3 gb big, but I can't even access it to delete something if that is the problem.
Can anyone help out with this?

When I send out emails that contain background coloring, fancy fonts, tables, graphics, etc. some recipients receive it okay while others do not. Those who do not may not be able to receive html emails or emails with special formating, or maybe they have filters or something. The email program I use outlook 2003 and I'm not sending spam - the email lands in people's inboxes as they are known contacts. I do the design work in outlook.

It is very important that I find a way to have these emails not lose their formatting when they reach the recipient. Please advise me on what the best thing(s) to do are to ensure the artwork is intact when the recipient opens the email. Thank you.

I have 3 email accounts that use Outlook. One is a personal address. One is for business. And the 3rd is for another family member. Currently, when I am in one account (ie, my personal emails) and I want to check emails in my business account, I have to close down Outlook and reopen under another account. Is there a way to "switch users" like I used to do in Outlook Express? I used to have aliases instead of separate email accounts.

I have started to frequently get this error, when I try to send email from outlook 2003
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'xxxx@xxx.com' on 03/08/2007 10:48
503 valid RCPT command must precede DATA

This doesn't happen every time, but frequently.
I'm suspecting it has something to do with my internet connection, because I also experience problems sometimes connecting to sites through my browser. And after a few attempts, I get through.
Do you know what the error means and what I can do to correct it?
Either some weird symbols show up or they seem to be "translated" to latin characters without giving any meaning.
How do I get this to work? Is it the browser (I use firefox and internet explorer) or is it the operative system (windows xp) or my email program (I use Outlook)?
