Hi,

I am using asp.net's BrowserCapabilities to detect which browser/version and platform the user was making the request from.

But it's not completely accurate and I was wondering whether there exists a way to keep this updated and or enhance it so that it covers more cases.

For example the UserAgent:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.15) Gecko/2009102918 CentOS/3.0.15-3.el5.centos Firefox/3.0.15

is interpreted as being

Browser: Mozilla 1.9.0.15

Platform: UNIX

Also I had an issue with MacOS not being recognized as a platform at all.

Is there a more constent way of handling this without having to use third party tools?

How do I trigger an event which was set up with dojo.connect?

The situation is that I have an html form with a file input field.

I want the form to be submitted asynchronously with dojo, so I connect the dojo ajax call to the onsubmit event of the form element:

dojo.connect(form_elem, 'onsubmit', function(event){dojo.xhrPost({form: form_elem});});

This (though example shown here is incomplete) works when you click the submit button - the file is submitted in the background.

Next thing is, I want to automatically submit the form when the user has selected a file, so I connect the onchange event of the file input element to the onsubmit event of the form:

dojo.connect(input_elem, 'onchange', function(event){input_elem.parentNode.onsubmit()});
(the parentNode is naturally the form element)

This doesn't work! The form element does not have an onsubmit function, even though it has the onsubmit event handler connected by dojo before.

Question is how do I trigger / fire the onsubmit event of the form?

I am trying to add a simple column, like so many times before:

ALTER TABLE main_user ADD `member_rank` int(11) NULL DEFAULT NULL

But the operation fails with MySQL saying:

Error on rename of '.\hoytocoyo\main_user.MYI' to '.\hoytocoyo\#sql2-ad4-9c.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

I am running Windows Vista, Apache 2.2.3, MySQL 5.0.27

It seems to me that trying to rename a file to something including a "#" symbol is bound to fail, since this character is not allowed...
What can I do?

Hi,

I've run into this problem:
I create a cookie in my subdomain: sub.domain.com
The cookie is written to: .domain.com so that it can be read across all the domain.
Afterwards I need to delete the cookie and I can't. I can read without issues, but I can't delete it from the subdomain I created it.
Do you have any idea why this is? (I'm testing with FF3, just in case)

I have to re-do a webpage that uses frames. With those frames, you cannot print the entire content because you need to scroll. So, what I want to do is vary the height of the frame depending on the content inside (so all the data is visible)

Enabling the text fields corresponding to the clicked radio buttons

I need to create three radio buttons for the fields current address, permanent address and work address and when the radio button is clicked, the corresponding text fields such as 3 different address types should get activated.

I understand that Microsofts implementation of the dropdown control inherits from the Win32api, and that's what's preventing the font styling.

Enable and disable of textfields using radio buttons in javascript

I need to enable certain text fields such as contact address, permanent address and employment address based on the selection of the corresponding radio buttons. If i work with first radio button, it is activating the first address type(contact address) and deactivating the other address types ( permanent and employment address) correctly. But for the second and third buttons too, it gives the same output.
It is not activating the corresponding address fields.

Please provide me with the javascript to execute the above condition.

slow asp.net site, render method takes forever

I have a strange problem with a website I'm developing in asp.net (C#).
Basically when uploaded to the server, the render method suddenly takes 15 sec. to execute, but not on all the pages. I'm not overloading the method, so it's pure standard asp.net rendering and i've never experienced something like this before.
Do you have any idea about what it could be?

Lucky to be alive but not lucky when it comes to communication. I have some hearing trouble (hearing aids don't help) and I have trouble hearing what the people are saying.
I have some experience with Web Designing (worked 2 websites from home, but I have knowledge on different IT). I applied in different companies, and so far no luck.

I am developing a web page that has to update things periodically with out refreshing the webpage (I have multiple forms in my web page and I don't want to disturb other forms). I can get the things back to the web page and they can be updated periodically when I use a single form. But the problem is when I use multiple forms in a single web page I am not able to refresh the single form. Can any one provide some tips how can I send single form request to the server.

Note: Please remember that I can't use submit buttons or anchor tags for submiting the form. It should be done automatically.

I can not display notepad file,text file,... in a web page that has designed with ASP . I use the following code:
