What is an average CPU Temperature for a laptop computer?

I've been having some issues with my fans not turning on as often as they should so I downloaded a tool that lets me regulate them manually. Does anyone know what the average normal operating temperature should be for a CPU to run correctly? Also, what is the maximum that it shouldn't hit?

I dont know what kind of average to give. All depends on make/model of your CPU. But I guess max should be around 80 - I think that is.
Look at technibble, it has a list http://www.technibble.com/what-is-my-com...

I agree with nidhi. His/her link is a very good one.

You can also use a chill mat (cooling mat, chillhub). It has fans that keep your laptop cool.

Thanks for the input.

I've been monitoring my computer for a while now and it seems like it overheats at about 80 like Nidhi suggested. It also averages about 45 or so when the fans are on in a mild room.

I have FSC AMILO dated around y2k4. It's w/ Pentium 4 Mobile at 2.0GHz. The laptop has around 59c for baseline, thus it will not go much higher even though lotsa load. It's very quiet aswell. I've replaced original thermal paste once. Don't think my degrees will be of any harm, actually quite normal for a laptop.

The maximum temperature of the CPU is 99 degree celcius. when the actual temperature reaches 100 degree celcius, the Operating system will shut down your computer automatically....
