Subsilver is more like a skin for phpBB.
It only contains photoshop files with images to change the look of phpBB, nothing more.
There's no installation coming with it and it's not under the same GPL license that phpBB is. There shouldn't be any problems if you changed anything regarding subsilver in the phpBB installation you've got.
