Where can I get a Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver?

I have windows vista on my notebook (a HP Compaq nx6125). It has a broadcom bluetooth device, but I get an installation notice all the time for the "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".
I suppose I need a driver, but I don't have any cd with that on.
Do you know where I can find it, if that's the problem?

hi david1,
You can get the latest bluetooth drivers from broadcom here:
http://www.broadcom.com/products/Bluetoo...

You should also check if you have the latest windows vista drivers installed in general:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec...

Let me know if this helps

Hi All..

I have read a lot of forums on this as I have "HAD" problems with this exact issue.. But I have solved it.
Im using Vista with a Dell M1730 with a built in bluetooth device. I installed my mobile which is the W980i. All good. Then I pared my Dell up with my partners KU990 (with my pc's the build in bluetooth ) all good. Copied pictures and all that. Then restarted my computer the next day and then had that Bluetooth Peripheral device driver problem. What solved that driver problem was I uninstalled the ku990 "paired device" from my bluetooth devices ( my computer's bluetooth ) then installed the ku990 software ( the cd that came with in the box ) onto my Dell. Got a connection between the 2 devices using the bluetooth option ( THRU THE KU990 SOFTWARE!!) then Voila! the Bluetooth Peripheral device problem solved. Doesnt even show up in the device manager.

I think if other people are using different software or mobiles and having this issue, then my best advice would be to uninstall it from the computer ( most of the time, vista loves to install software on its own ) then use the softeware that came with the devices, and hopefully connect thru the software and not vista.

Hope this helps guys if you are still struggling with this. I didnt even have to install all that stuff that had nothing to do with my system ;)

I have had the same problem. I already had my KU990 paired with my asus note book but when I went to send image to my computer it came up with the said message. I then right clicked on the bluetooth icon down the bottom and choose recieve file, a window came up with a message "waiting to recieve file from computer or device" I then sent my image from my phone to my computer and it sent no message came up. So it seems with the my computer anyway I needed to tell my computer to receive the file first before sending it from the phone.
Hope that helps.

I had two of these and I found one to be a Bluetooth Bus Enumerator found om my rockfish cd and the other was Bluetooth Printing Support found if you wait for the list to come up during driver reinstall, this is under bluetooth radios in the microsoft folder. uninstall both drivers and scan for hardware changes before trying this

Theoretically this should solve the problem: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetoot...
In the reality, for me the software failed to find any bluetooth device though they are working bluetooth adapters.

Here's what I did when bluetooth on Windows 7 PCs and Vista PCs that I had, didn't work with my iPhone:

- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...-...
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.

- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:

- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.

- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'

- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.

- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.

- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.

- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.

- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.

Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.

There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message.

Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.

i had this problem too with my Dell Vostro 1320 laptop.
i installed this and got it fixed:
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...
yours is probably different.

1. download this and install (for any windows 32bit and 64bit):
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...
2. after installing, there will be sounds like your are plugging in something, wait until it's finished.
3. reboot your pc/laptop.
4. if there are still some bluetooth peripheral devices that dont have drivers installed yet, try to switch off then on the bluetooth.

If you have problem like Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver can't be found, then try this solution below (PS : if your Bluetooth works fine before) :
1. Turn on your bluetooth device
2. Right click the bluetooth device icon in the sistem tray
3. Choose / click "Show bluetooth devices"
4. There will be some list of devices you ever paired with (like your phone, other laptop, etc).
5. Just remove all of the list.
That's it...
And the warning like "Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver can't be found) won't show up again.

I have try this solution and works fine..

Hi All,

I have hp dv9700t model. I was provided with Vista from HP, but it sucks I upgraded to Win 7 x86. Now in general most of the default driver works for Win 7. But, in my case the Bluetooth Headset didn't work.

when I add bluetooth device, it showed no drivers installed. I tried various result. One as above stated that of installing Mobile Device center.

The best one I liked is to search on their own. I did following steps:

1) Add Bluetooth Headset, it will not install drivers and report problem. By default in my case it is just adding it as Handsfree and in Device Manager it is showing 1 Bluetooth peripheral device with yellow mark(for no driver)
2) Now in the devices I selected the properties of my bluetooth headset and in services tab in top added the service of headset. After this you will see one more Bluetooth Peripheral Device (one for handsfree and one for headset).

* Now you have two options either update the drivers of both to Mobile Device center as mentioned or as I did:

3) Go to both Bluetooth Peripheral Device and see there hardware id; to see the same you need to go to each device property and in the details tab select the hardware id in the listbox.

Now you can put hardware id("BTHENUM\{00001108-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&000f"
) of these devices in the google. You will get to know the driver release version and the vendor. As in my case, one site reported that in Broadcom 6.0.1.3600 I will get both the hardware drivers. Then google the "Broadcom 6.0.1.360". I got that on cnet download site.
After installation, my devices are now installed as Bluetooth virtual devices.

Hope that helps...! In same way many drivers can be find.

If you couldn't find it on HP site easy, you could try a program I use. It automatically updates your drivers, saves me a lot of time and frustration. Take a look here for those drivers.

I would try a program that has a driver database. The link included is a program that automatically updates and downloads drivers. Its unique because it has the LARGEST database of all the programs. I had a similar problem with a bluetooth driver. Download it and install it and do a scan, it will tell you if it has the driver in its database or not.

I would suggest entering "hp compaq nx6125 bluetooth device driver" into the driver search engine at this page: http://www.driversupdate.org/device-driv...

You can try altering the search query until you get the exact match for the bluetooth peripheral device driver that your looking for. This is simply a device driver search engine using Google custom search technology. It only searches 342 manufacturer websites so you will only get sites with drivers and no dead-ends.

The problem is not from the notebook pc etc.Windows need the drivers from the divice who send data to the pc via bluetooth.
Also if you want stop this go control panel - bluetooth devices and delete them from this folder.Otherwise it should you pass drivers from phone or other device to your computer.
