To disable the network print notification balloon windows in Windows XP SP2:
1) Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings
2) Change the value with the following details:
Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote
Value: 0
3) Stop and restart the spooler service for the change to take effect

You should be more especific about your question, are you talking about the windows printer notification or a notification of software of an especific model of printer, if then, post your model an os version.

Right click on the Taskbar then select Properties > Hide Inactive Icons -Customize...
Find the printer icon and set it to 'Always Hide'. Click OK, Click Apply
