Well to recover windows file, it better if just reinstall the OS and you’ll get all the lost windows files back but if you have lost any data by that, please visit data recovery specialists and get it cured.

In fact, not too long ago, I had tried to extend my computer E partition space with partition resizing tools like this: http://www.partition-magic-server-2003.blogspot.com/2013/11/resize-server-2003-
partition-free.html

If you really have such similar drive low disk space problem, it may also help you a lot.

Make drive data backups well in case of unwanted drive data loss.

Hey, friend! Thank you for your nice post! Not too long ago, I had also encountered similar Windows computer drive data loss problems and wondered to take all lost stuffs back. I have ever tried some detailed steps to restore my lost data backup from formatted external drive. You may also take chances here:

1). Stop using that windows drive to avoid father data loss.

2). Check your drive data backups to see how many of your original stuffs could be directly copied back.
3). Apply external hard drive lost data recovery software to scan this drive to see whether all rest drive data could be restored.

4). Back up all restored phone stuffs on another drives or locations, not this external drive.
