How long time does it take to get a google page rank?

I have this website that is indexed in google for some months now and it's also receiving traffic from google, but it still has a page rank of 0. When is that updated or what does it take to get a higher page rank?
I thought it came mostly from the links that were pointing to my site, but when I search in google for my website I see a lot of sites that link to me, but when I use the link:www.mysite.com it doesn't show any links yet. Is it because it takes a long time to evaluate those incoming links that the page rank is not calculated yet?

I found out that the Google Toolbar PageRank is updated about every three months and there will probably be one now about mid october.

Google spiders crawl the websites after a varying amount of time.
You can only make a guesstimate of how much time Google spiders would take to crawl your site.
