Unfortunately I couldn't find any free php library to deal with ISO 8583 protocol. However there is a good Java implementation on sourceforge.net name J8583 Framework. You can find a brief explanation of the ISO-8583 protocol with some examples here: http://j8583.sourceforge.net/desc8583...

You can also take a look into the source code of J8583 framework. Porting this project to PHP should be easy if you know java and the best example to understand how the ISO-8583 protocol can be implemented into your application.

Use JAK8583. It is a free and great php class for iso 8583 format. You can parse and construct iso8583 data easily.

Contact me for details on how to encode/decode ISO 8583 messages. DO NOT rely on all those free classes out there, as different ATMs produce different message formats. You really wanna design 1 of your own if you are to earn a living out of it. You also need to have total control of whatever you're implementing. The trick lies in understanding the target AATM message formats. Then, implemment ISO 8583 by yourself. Basically, it's all about manipulating strings. I have done it in C#.
