Networking my laptop to my printer
I have my wireless desktop computer connected to my computers printer downstairs wirelessly, the computer downstairs is connected to the router.. i tried setting up my dads laptop to the network so he can print wirelessly too but it only lets him connect when it is connected with a wire. my computer and the laptop are both XP and the computer downstairs is 98. i got mine to print wirelessly but it wont work for his. i followed the same steps but his asked for a cable. he has a buildt in wireless card. what do i do?

My guess is that a firewall is blocking the wireless' ipaddress as opposed to the hardwire connection. check out this thread to see if this helps, then we'll go from there.
