you'll be able to do this for any application at least once.
if you're using a microsoft office product, you can go back several times.
If you've saved the document, there's no real recovery unless you've set up editing features beforehand with your document.

If you are using Microsoft Word or any other package which comes under ms-office than you can do it upto before closing your application but if you are using notepad than you can do only once.

If you've saved the document, there's no real recovery unless you've set up editing features beforehand with your document. Here I have a good recommend for you: Tuneup360 and Norton system work, but the latter one is a little bit difficult. For the beginners, Tuneup360 is a good choice.
