I have MacAfee and cannot save a text file with the following string
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
Try create a new text file (right click, new, text doc would work) then paste the line and try saving it.
