Compaq Armada M300 will not boot. After Logo an error message appears."Non system disk or disk error"
The laptop does not have a disk reader, [ floppy,CD,orDVD }. It kept hanging and then it would crash with the message " preparing to dump memory ", prefixed with a bunch of error numbers. It was clogged with useless files [ leftovers , tag ends and such ].I cleaned a lot of them. Then when I got enough out to where I could download a program,[ without it crashing ] , I down loaded CCleaner. I have used CCleaner for years without a problem. After using CCleaner , I got a blue screen with the error message " Kernel_Stack_Inpage_Error and it shut down. Since then [ when the computer tries to boot ] , the logo comes up and then after several minutes, I get the " Non System Disk or Disk Error , replace and Strike any Key " message. I was workining in " safe mode ". The OS is Win2000 Pro.
Thanks, Don

CCleaner may have messed something up in your registry. Usually it backs up your registry in case of errors like this. I would use a bootable disk and try to repair the OS that way. Also, try booting in safe mode and/or restore to the last known good configuration

Also, make sure you are booting to the hard drive and there are no disks in the drives.

I thank you for trying to answer. As stated, the unit does not contain a disk reader of any type. The unit has been dismantled and is to be used as parts.
