How to show progress bar for downloading PDF?

I have a link to download PDF file, pretty big, so it takes a while to download this file. I need to show progress status while file's downloading. I don't want this file to be open inside another browser window though, but as a Acrobat PDF file. Is there way to do so?

Then estimate the time it takes for the download and put it into your code...

You would need something (a script) that could estimate the speed of the connection that the client has....

I'm not sure how to do the entire thing that you ask for, but maybe http://stackoverflow.com/questions/86... can be connected to the script I liked to earlier. I don't know though how to do it, you'll have to look further into these links....
