You could try using Windows to help repair
Open up windows explorer or go to my Computer.
Right click on C drive (or any other drive you want checking) then select Properties
Click on the Tools tab
Click on Check Now button
Check the fix boxes accordngly eg scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
Then click on Start
Ensure you have backedup all your essential files.
Remember that hard drives being mechanical will fail at some point but should last for quite some time. I have had one failure. Hard drives are pretty cheap to buy nowadays anyway.

Actually my system have a DVD Writer problem...so when i usually formatted the system the OS files got corrupted..
Its not a Hard - disk problem..

Yes you cam go like My computer->Right click any drive(like D:)->properties->tools->check now button.. Check the fix boxes accordngly eg scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors..
Then click start.. Be sure u have backed up all the data..
