I'm running Vista and have tried to set my new canon and I cant print anything from my laptop.
OK So I have a laptop about year or so old It running Vista. I haven't tried before to set up a printer with but now need too, I brought a cheap HP but couldn't get it to print so I took it back and upgraded to a Canon Pixma MP560 connected via usb and can't get this one to print either. I've called Canon and all they can suggest is I uninstall the printer, disable my anti virus software(Norton) and reinstall. Before I do this is there anything else that I can try. The computer says it recognises the printer but it just wont print a document either from word or excel.
Pls help me

I should of said run a printer test which you can do via the printer. but you printed a phot thats fine. still might be worth running a self printer test though
Second, you said you connected by usb. Have you tried another usb cable? Your printer is wireless right? Have you tried connecting wirelessly and try printing?
Third, look at the printers in control panel. Is your printer status set at enabled? double click it, do you see any jobs outstanding (from previous attempts).
Fourth, you said excel or word. Does it print from anything else like notepad or something.
Perhaps the port it setup is wrong. Uninstalling the printer inc. drivers and reinstalling may help.
