pdanet is for tethering right? so you need to connect it to a mobile in order to use the internet.
If that is the case then chances are it may not. I am not too familiar with pdanet but does it connect automatically? Previously when you used pdsnet on your laptop, does anything change on your phone? if u see that then you know otherwise forget it. Sorry to say it's gone.
I would say if your laptop is stolen then for a computer illiterate thief, it will just get sold who knows where.
Something I have been considering but not used it yet so dont know how good it is but this free service here, maybe use in the future
