i forgot password to old Gateway Solo (circa 2001). Just want to check drive for a file - any ideas

The laptop has been retired for some years - don't need it ever again - just want to search the drive. Trying to solve this at home - but can bring drive to third party as last resort

You can have three ways to reset password for your Gateway Solo:

1. Log in through another admin accountto change your password

2. Re-installl your system

3. Use some useful password reset tools, such as, John the Ripper, Anmosoft Windows Password Reset, etc.

If you have created a password reset disk you can get past the password and login. But if you don't have one I am afraid you have to use a third-party tool to bypass it. Here is a guide for you: http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.c...
