If your TV has a VGA port simply buy a VGA cable from you local pc store. If not use a S-Video cable to connect your pc to tv.

i think nowadays tv will come with VGA input and HDMI input.
Like mason mentioned u can use the vga cable or s-video cable,
there's also VGA to HDMI cable which i'm using to connect my mini desktop to my lcd tv.
However usually the problem is with connecting the audio :)

If you have an older laptop and it has a S-VGA port. You can try this:
First connect the tv and the laptop using a svga to rca cable
Then power on the tv first then power on the laptop
Upon powering the laptop, press F8 key to launch the Boot Menu
Select VGA mode then set your resolution size to 800x600 16 bit.
After the changes you should see the desktop of your laptop on your tv screen.
