If you have synced your iPhone to iTunes on a computer before and have not synced it after you deleted the text messages, you can get them back. But iTunes can't help. If you have a backup on icloud, you can bring it back. But if you donnot, you may have to use a 3rd party recovery, Wondershare Dr.fone will helps you to do this.

Follow these steps to Recover text message for iPhone:

To retrieve a deleted SMS is to restore the phone to a time when the SMS was backed up, if it was. You have the choice to either recover deleted text messages to that backup, which will result in everything you have done since that backup to be lost, or if the SMS is in the backup, you could download an iPhone SMS Recovery software. you can recover deleted SMS from iphone 4s by two ways.
the first way is to recover directly from your iTunes backup

A lot more iPhone users are asking for help to recover deleted text messages from iPhone 4S, which they deleted accidentally or intentionaly. General speaking, it's impossible to recover deleted SMS from iPhone. But if you've ever synced your iPhone with iTunes, there does be a way.

If the messages exist in the backup, then they can definitely be recovered. Now there are 3 things you can do retrieve deleted text messages from iPhone:-
1 - Go to Apple Genius bar and see if they can help
2 - Restore from the backup:- This will get you all the messages you want, but will wipe out everything that came into your phone since the backup date
3 - Get a backup recovery software:- I have used iPhone Data recovery software and would definitely recommend it. There are other options though, like the one Daiya has suggested, but they are just too expensive. It does the exact same thing for much less.

I collected two methods to recover deleted text messages from iPhone:

If you have synced your iphone to itunes, you can recover your lost messages from itunes backup files. But these backup files are not common files, you can not manage them directly, you have to use a program, iphone data extractor
