Everyone has accidentally deleted the phone number of a friend or co-worker while trying to add an email address or new number. As phones become more advanced, it seems to become easier to make these potentially catastrophic deletions. Thankfully for users of the iPhone, however, deleting or losing a contact doesn't mean it is gone forever. If you haven't yet synchronized your computer and your iPhone, use iTunes. If you have synchronized your devices, use your most current backup or archive.

I was an iOS developer at Contus, I went a head with same problem and I found a solution via forums. Sharing the same with you heer .You can use Backup trans iPhone SMS and contacts recovery software to retrive the contacts for your iPhone. I use the same to recover my contacts and I use iPhone 4S

There are many tools online that claim could do wonder with iPhone 6/5S/5/4S/4 recovery, and I have tried a few trial versions. All I could recommend is to rely on paid software with good reputation rather than some random free program, one for your lost data might be worth the money you spent, and other, the untried software might reduce the possibility of getting back your lost data. Plus, if you are going to pay for the data recovery, why not choose a good one that actually work and make it worth?
As for me, I tried iPhone Data Recovery, and it worked like a charm. Not only my contacts were back, thank goodness, but all the other files like pictures, calendars and such were back. When I first found out about the result, I am genuinely surprised, it actually works! So here I am, recommend this software to you, to those who have been in the same craziness.
Using this software is quite simple. Just download the program and run it, then a webpage will pop out to guide you through. I will briefly show how I recovered all my contacts directly from my iPhone .
Step 1:Connect the phone to PC (I'm not a big Apple fan though, i still prefer Windows) and run the software.
Step2:Click on the "Recover Data from iOS Device", for I do not have any backups, and hit "Scan".
Step3:Then the scanning will begin, when it's done, all your lost files could be previewed. There I clicked the Contacts, and click "check all" and hit "Recover". Choose the file where I want to save them, and viola! My contacts are back!
