What can I do to get the highest search engine placement possible for my Web site?

I remember back in the "olden days" of search engine optimization consultant , it was mostly about the keywords in your META tags. Now, that clearly is not enough. I'm curious what I can do to optimizes search engine placement without paying thousands of dollars for someone else to do it for me. What are those people doing to get top placement?

You can do it for advertise your site on web & get traffic with little money not thousands

& there is sites exchange the traffic with you you visit thier sites & they visit yours by that you get higher rank

You can get the highest search engine placement for your website by doing better advertising of your website by online as well as the offline communications as well as you create the website related pages over a social media like Google+ , Facebook and a Twitter.
