Answer Question
I have the same problem as that submitted by klabelle with the Internet Explorer
I am running windows XP and IE6 and have exactly the same problem as klabelle i.e. sometimes, whilst browsing the hour glass wait icon never seems to time out and remains steady. An example where the problem frequently (but not always) occurs is whilst I am browsing a particular site of an online game. By putting the mouse to the exit (X) the mouse pointer changes from an hour glass to an arrow. Upon closing IE6 I get the message "This program is not responding..." Another Problem I'm having is that sometimes in the lower line of the Explorer window (just above the start), a message shows Done with errors. I tried following your advice i.e lets explore the add-ons first.
with internet explorer open, click on the Tools menu and go to Internet options.
click on the programs tab and then click on manage add ons.
for each item in the "show" box, go through the list and enable or disable the items idividually. don't worry, if you screw anything up, you can simply enable them again later.
to speed up the process, disable them in this order:
1. active X controls
2. toolbars
3. Browser helper objects
4. anything from a publisher you've never heard of before
5. anything that's not microsoft.
if you have found the culprit, you can either leave it disabled, or I can walk you through how to permanently remove it.
However, under the programs tab I could not find manage add-ons. |Could you help me please cause i'm getting really frustrated!!. Thanks a lot in advance.
