How to repair Internet Explorer 7 in WIndows Vista?
I have a friend that says his IE7 runs unstable on his windows vista computer.
Do you know if it's possible to repair the browser, sort of to start from fresh, in case any addons or plugins have caused an issue or it was intalled wrongly in the first place?

They could uninstall it completely from control panel and start fresh. In system tools there is an IE with no add ons. Check for updates too, this could resolve the issue with IE.

I thought there was a repair function like there used to be in earlier windows versions. it appears that's not the case...

Method to follow if you have Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8
If you have Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8, you can repair damaged files or missing registration information in Internet Explorer 7 or in Internet Explorer 8. To do this, follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset to confirm.
