Record button on sound recorder greyed out?
Optiplex 330 with Windows XP service pack 3. Trying to get the computer to past a hardware test for a webinar but it fails and returns an error saying hardware not detected. It's the on board sound card so not sure why its coming back as an error.
I have discovered that the record button on the sound recorder is grayed out and think this is related to the problem. Any ideas?

Might be worth checking device manager (control panel/system/hardware). Look for your sound card, is there some yellow icon on it? It could be drivers corrupted/missing or something like that.
