Thanks for tryiing to help out.
I did find a product that I'm currently evaluating. It's called Wrike (www.wrike.com) and they have a 30 day trial.
It's webbased, seems pretty simple and easy to use, but also has the features I was looking for.
I'll post here, when I make a decision about it.

I highly recommend Wrike. What I overuse in Wrike is its activity stream. We deal with remote teams in different countries, but we work on the same schedule. What I do is check the activity stream where my contractors post the link to their yesterday’s accomplishment reports. If I have questions or want to assign a task I tag/mention them right on the feed to draw their attention. I got so comfortable doing this that I hardly use my email or chat, just this feed to stay on top of my teams’ outputs.
Likewise, I deal with lots of content daily. I use live editing to immediately finalize versions. The document versioning also helps us to avoid overwriting the final file. We used to send file attachments via email but it’s just risky when you have a dozen of content shuffling back and forth every day.
What else? Wrike has pretty neat visual timelines but I haven’t used them since our milestones are simple and on daily basis. There are plenty of other options--in fact, if you want more insights you can immediately check this top 20 project management software guide.
Overall, I find Wrike able to meet not just special projects with clearly defined start and end stages, but it helps me manage daily recurring tasks. I know I’ve just described task management and collaboration, mostly. I still have to optimize this project management app especially its reporting and resource management features.
