Your Windows XP (or later) is failing the WGA check (Windows Genuine Advantage) which means that the CD key you're using is either invalid (like a blacklisted volume license key) or has been activated too many times. If you're legit, call Microsoft, it's a 5 minute process to get a new key, as many times as I've called it's been free too. 1-866-234-6020 for XP (I think) and 1-866-740-1256 for Vista.

oh, and to correct the disk checking feature, go to the start menu and select run. then type
chkdsk /r
then press enter and restart the computer. the /r function will take a long time (like 1 hour) but if it doesn't fix your problem, you may have a failing hard drive.
