Nice design, But apart from Magneto, I am using WordPress , only because of its robustness and free open source properties.
I dont know about Magneto, But in wordpress we can do and customize n number of things.

I would choose Magento for an e-Commerce site. WP is good but mostly for tiny shops with a few products as WP is still a blogging platworm while Magento has been specifically designed for online shops. However, you should understand that you'll need some customizations and extensions. This may seem expensive but it really pays off.
My favourite extensions developer is Amasty, you may find their mods at http://amasty.com/magento-extensions.html

Well there is no doubt that Magento could be a great option for creating any online eCommerce portals. But, if I were in your place, I would have gone for WordPress because of the obvious reasons of user friendly features, availability of themes and plugins, SEO friendly functionalities and many more. One can simply create any online portals using stunning eCommerce WordPress themes on their websites.
