WMV means windows media video which is most preferred windows operating system.MOV is commonly used format which is most preferred for OS X or mac.QuickTime apps is provided by apple.Many OS supported apps sometime not supported others OS format.So i think MOV/MP4 format is better for you. You can download a converter than convert those songs for play in QuickTime.Hope i helped you!!!

I dont think you can play wmv smoothly in QuickTime, the wmv format is not a readable format on Mac, you need to convert WMV to MOV for QuickTime, or install a plugin such as Flip4Mac onto QuickTime.
Another way, download a Windows Media Player 9 for Mac from Microsoft official site.
